WSSU Wellness Center receives $900,000 Federal Grant
Winston-Salem State University's (WSSU) Wellness Center has been awarded a three-year $900,000 federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) grant to fund programs that use research-proven interventions to reduce substance abuse, occurrences of AIDS and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in the Winston-Salem community.

WSSU Rehabilitation Counseling Professor Received Prestigious Honor
Brenda Y. Cartwright, WSSU professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Counseling, was a recent recipient of the Vernon E. Hawkins Pioneer and Leadership Award given by the National Association of Multicultural Rehabilitation Concerns (NAMRC) at their 22nd Annual Training Conference.
