Using Clickers to Aid in the Retention of Student Learning

Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM (EST) O'Kelly Library, Room 202 Presenter: Ms. Carolyn Grimes, Turning Technologies

Classroom response systems or "clickers" are a technology that can assist faculty with identifying students' misunderstandings and correcting gaps in students' knowledge. This webinar presented by a training specialist at Turning Technologies will demonstrate how to use the PowerPoint and Anywhere Polling features. Pizza will be provided. Flipping the Classroom, Part II:  iPad Screencasting

Monday, March 23, 2015 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM (EST) O'Kelly Library, Room 202 Presenters:  Dr. Bhat and Dr. Rob Owens  

In this second workshop of Flipping the Classroom series, instructors will learn about the most common apps used for screencasting on the Apple iPad. Screencasting  in class allow instructors to lecture and walk around while engaging students in class who might be working individually or in groups. This workshop is sponsored by the Teaching and Learning Technology Roundtable (TLTR). Suggestions for future TLTR workshops can be emailed to Dr. Rob Owens at owensre@wssu.edu or cetl@wssu.edu

Promotion and Tenure Workshop - 2015

Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm (EST) Hill Hall, Room L05 Presenter: Provost Brenda Allen

This workshop, led by Provost Brenda Allen and senior faculty, is designed for tenure-track or tenured faculty preparing promotion portfolios for review. WSSU Provost and a panel of senior faculty who have served on departmental and university-wide Tenure and Promotion Committees will provide guidelines, resources and suggestions for portfolio preparation. This workshop is highly recommended for faculty scheduled to submit portfolios for tenure and promotion in August, 2015.
