WSSU Elects New Board Of Trustees Chair

Debra B. Miller, Executive Director for New Hampshire of More Than Wheels (formerly Bonnie CLAC), a nonprofit that helps people get the best deal on a reliable and fuel-efficient car, has been elected chair of the Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) Board of Trustees.
Miller, who had been secretary, is replacing Scott Bauer, chairman and chief executive officer for Southern Community Financial Corporation, who had served as chair since 2009.
Other officers elected at the recent board meeting include: Victor Johnson, retired educator and Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School board member, vice president; Vivian Burke, City of Winston-Salem mayor pro tempore, secretary; and RaVonda Dalton-Rann, executive assistant to the chancellor at WSSU, assistant secretary.
In addition, Austin Grier has joined the board as representative for the WSSU Student Government Association.
