Winston-Salem State University Foundation Elects New Officers and Two New Directors

The Winston-Salem State University Foundation has elected new officers and two new directors.
The new officers for 2011-2012 are: James Martin, president of Arbor Investment Advisors, chair; Roger Vaughn, retired former president of Aon Consulting US, vice chair; Martha Logemann, owner of Logemann & Co., PA, treasurer; and Tim Grant, director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Winston-Salem and Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) graduate, secretary.
New Board members elected to serve three-year terms are: Cheryl E.H. Locke, vice president of human resources at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center and Cynthia A. Williams, BB&T Corporation chief corporate communications officer who also leads BB&T’s corporate branding, marketing and advertising teams.
Directors elected to a second three-year term are: Grant, Logemann, Martin and Clifton Sparrow, an independent financial advisor with LPL Financial in Columbus Ohio, a leading independent source of financial services and investment advice. Sparrow is a graduate of WSSU.
The Winston-Salem State University Foundation, Inc. was created in 1970 to generate financial resources for the university through private giving. The Foundation’s board oversees how money is raised, how contributions are invested and how the Foundation distributes grants. The board also advises and supports other activities of the Foundation designed to further the strategic initiatives of the university.
