WSSU Professor Named to National Committee

James S. Etim, professor of education in the School of Education and Human Performance at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU), has been selected by Educational Testing Service (ETS) to serve on the national advisory committee for pre-professional skills testing for the Praxis 1 Teacher Licensure program.

Twenty faculty members from universities across the United States and from Guam are represented on the committee. The group recently met in Princeton, New Jersey to produce a regenerated assessment of the Praxis 1 Exam that tests basic skills in reading, writing and mathematics to be used as an entrance requirement for teacher preparatory programs.
