Get ahead this summer with WSSU
Summer classes at Winston-Salem State University are just a few weeks away. With classes starting in May and June, now is the time to prepare. Here’s what you need to know to get ahead this summer.
At WSSU this summer, you can complete courses in a little as five weeks. Also, because WSSU offers two sessions, you don’t have to spend your entire summer in class if you don’t want to.
WSSU offers two summer sessions:
- May 17: Summer Session I classes begin
- June 26: Summer Session II classes begin
Summer is a great time to:
- Improve your GPA
- Graduate faster
- Complete prerequisites
Academic advisement began on Monday, March 20. Continuing student registration begins on March 29 and continues through April 17. To avoid being purged for non-payment, it is strongly advised that you pay for classes immediately upon registering.
Students who plan to take classes at another college or university in the fall may be eligible to take core classes this summer at WSSU. To get started, complete the application for admission. Be sure to check the “Summer School Only” box. The application deadlines are:
- Summer Session I: May 14
- Summer Session II: June 24
Early registration for visiting students begins on April 7.
High School Students
During summer sessions, WSSU accepts high school juniors and seniors who are above average in academic achievement and have the formal endorsement of and permission from their high school principals. Students also must complete the application for admission. Be sure to check the “Summer School Only” box.
