Best PracticesDescription: Through a grant from The HBCU Center for Excellence in Behavioral Health, The WSSU Wellness Center has partnered with the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) to provide an online asynchronous training to faculty examining best practices in identifying, approaching and referring students experiencing emotional distress. This innovative training through Kognito, a company specializing in interactive simulations, utilizes avatar-based learning.  Faculty members enter a virtual environment, assume the role of a professor and respond to real student situations. This fun and interactive program helps to promote awareness and early intervention, increase student retention and academic performance and reduce stigma associated with mental illness.  Please join us in taking this interactive training to promote mental health awareness on our campus!  You can engage this training completely at your convenience via your computer or tablet in about 45 minutes! (PowerPoint | Video)
