Midterm Course Assessments

Midterm Course Assessments

Digital Measures Course Response
Since spring 2012, a midterm course evaluation can be administered through Digital Measures Course Response.  The eight- item, mostly quantitative midterm assessment is designed to provide instructors with student feedback during the middle of the semester, which gives instructors an opportunity to study the results and make adjustments prior to the end of term.  The midterm course evaluation will have all functionalities of end-of-term course evaluations (e.g., invitation and reminder emails for students, “viewing respondents” capabilities for faculty) available.

At this time, the midterm evaluation is voluntary, and Institutional Assessment & Research will not share results with anyone other than the instructor.  For fall 2013, midterm course evaluations are projected to be available to students from Wednesday, October 2 at 8:00 AM EST to Monday, October 7 at 11:59 PM EST.  Reports are scheduled to be available to instructors on Wednesday, October 10 at 8:00 AM EST. Projected midterm course evaluation dates for the current term can also be found here.

If you are interested in having your students complete a midterm course evaluation, please complete this chart and return it to Laura R. Crist (riddlelb@wssu.edu) by Friday, September 13, 2013.  Due to logistical issues, no late submissions will be accepted.  Availability is limited, so sign up soon!

CETL’s MAP
In addition to this Digital Measures Course Response midterm assessment, another tool for gathering feedback from your students while there is time left in the semester is CETL’s Midterm Assessment Process (MAP).  For additional information on the MAP, please visit CETL’s website.
