Once a student self-discloses, provides documentation and completes a registration form, he/she will be considered for services. This student must meet all four criteria on the registration form.
Sometimes students may be found to require assistance after matriculating at WSSU. Disability Services attempts to establish relationships throughout the university to make all aware of this office and the ability to refer students.
Once a student is deemed to meet ALL criteria and becomes a part of the Office of Disability Services, it is the student's responsibility to contact the office as required on the initial accommodation letter.
Disability Registration Forms may be found on this website. Click on Student Accommodations Request Form.
Instructors should have on their syllabi a generic statement that reads, "Students with a documented disability must register with the WSSU Disability Services Office within the first five weeks of each semester in order to receive any consideration for accommodations in this course. You may reach the Disability Services Office by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org."
