General Guest Information
Parking for guests will be available in Bowman Gray East Lot, Bowman Gray West Lot, Civitan Park Lot, EE, R, and O. Guests will not be permitted to park in the businesses around the stadium as they will be open for business. Handicapped parking will be in the Bowman Gray South Lot. Signs will be posted for your convenience.
Guest should look for shuttle stops at the front of each lot.
The shuttle buses will start at 7:00 a.m. on the morning of Commencement. They will pick passengers up at bus shelters as well as people walking in the parking lot at the Anderson Center. The shuttle buses will not stop on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. They will continue running until the event is completed and everyone has cleared the stadium.
There are no guest limits or ticket requirements for the ceremony.
Gates will open at 8 a.m. and due to construction in the area, normal Friday morning traffic and the number of commencement attendees expected. You are urged to leave for ceremony in plenty of time to get to the stadium, get parked and make your way to the seating areas. The Commencement exercise will begin promptly at 9:45 a.m.
Accessible seating for persons with impaired mobility will be available in the stadium in the two street level patios and the top two rows of the stadium general admission seating throughout the stadium. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The procession will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. so that all degree candidates will be seated for the start of the program at 9:45 a.m.
The concession stands on the stadium concourse will be opened for soft drink and water service only. Guests will be able to bring stadium seats in, but no coolers or backpacks will be allowed. Also, umbrellas, balloons and anything else that would obstruct anyone’s view of the ceremony will not be allowed.
