The Winston-Salem State University community awaits the opening of the Donald J. Reaves Student Center, including three floors of fantastic fitness opportunities. After years of anticipation and planning, WSSU will open the doors of a state of the art multifunctional building in the summer of 2013. The new building will inspire an explosion of new activities and programs on campus, encouraging students, faculty and staff to lead healthier lives. Whether you are a weekend warrior, serious competitor or brand new to fitness, come join us and have some fun!

Students take an active role in the direction of the department. UREC compliments many academic programs offered at WSSU and serves as a laboratory for unlimited educational endeavors. Through volunteering, field experience, internships, work-study, and campus jobs students receive practical hands-on learning.
