The department of Interpersonal Violence Prevention (IVP) is dedicated to creating a safe and non-threatening environment for students on the campus of WSSU. The department of IVP provides services to students who are experiencing domestic violence, dating and violence, violence through social media and other personal threats. It is our goal to foster healthy, stable and nurturing relationships through education, holistic student development and community resources. The department ensures confidentially and support. The department will assist students with referrals to our counseling center or community based programs. Additionally, IVP provides workshops and training on identifying abusive relationships and creating and maintaining healthy interpersonal contacts.
The IVP's mission is to create a safe, respectful and non-threatening environment for students who may be involved in abusive relationships and those who may be interested in learning about healthy interpersonal relationships. It is our goal to foster healthy, stable and nurturing relationships through education, holistic student development and community resources.
Interpersonal violence includes sexual assault, dating violence, violence through social media and other personal threats. The department will:
- provides services to students experiencing interpersonal violence
- ensures confidentiality and support
- assist students with referrals to our counseling center or community based programs
Students and parents are encouraged to contact the office of IVP to learn more about our services or obtain further information on IVP workshops, literature and our community based referral agencies.
