Parent and Family Programs
Dr. Gloria Laureano
Dean of Students
Welcome new parents and families to WSSU! We are working on a variety of resources to help you better support your students have a successful university experience. There are several initiatives being planned for you and they include:
- A parent's association to better support prospective and new parents through the preparation to your student entering WSSU and throughout their time on campus
- Campus resources that include academic support, student services, and opportunities for involvement
- Parent resources to help you transition your role as a parent of a new university student
- Opportunities for parents to stay connected to the campus and be involved
In addition to these services, this year we partnered with EverFi to provide parents with an online education module that addresses issues related to behaviors around alcohol and other drugs among college students. The AlcoholEdu for Parents program is intended to support your conversations about alcohol that will help shape the decisions your student must make in college surrounding alcohol use.
