David L. Mount, Psy.D., MA
David L. Mount, Psy.D., MA, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where he also holds affiliations in the Maya Angelou Research Center on Minority Health, Center for the Hypertension and Vascular Research Center, and Comparative Medicine.
Dr. Mount is designated health disparities scholar through the National Institutes of Health. He is a chronic disease researcher focused on health disparity reduction and health equity promotion, primarily in diabetes. His research is directed via a biopsychosocial framework. The specific areas of his research focus on brain-behavior relationship, health literacy, patient adherence/behavioral change, and social justice in health care.
Dr. Mount is a licensed clinical psychologist with specialties in health psychology, medical neuropsychology, and medical rehabilitation psychology. He is an adjunct faculty member at Winston-Salem State University. Dr. Mount is the awardee of a grant to increase the recruitment and retention of minority students in the behavioral sciences. His community service is directed at addressing health equity and mind-body education and outreach through grassroots activities.
