"STEM"ulate programs are engaging, encouraging and expand students minds with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. These programs provide both a fun and interactive learning experience while challenging students to enhance their knowledge of various STEM topics. The 4H Ram Squad is the newest 4H club in Forsyth County. If your middle grade or high school student is interested in participating please contact club leader Joseph Baker at bakerj@wssu.edu.

LEGO Robotics represents a highly motivating, highly engaging basis for standards-based learning across the curriculum, with particular value in the four STEM subject areas. LEGO Robotics enables and facilitates progressive approaches to instruction and the kits serves as the foundation for the very popular FIRST LEGO League extra-curricular and after-school activities and competitions. The benefits to each student include: hands-on education,meets national learning standards, integrates STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), builds teamwork, and the work is fun and challenging.

SLEM is designed to provide "STEM" enrichment, with a focus in literacy, to underserved, at-risk 3rd, 4th and 5th graders with an emphasis on minority males.

Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) will host the 14th Annual Winston-Salem State University Mathematics Faceoff. This competition is for Level III Category and the Comprehensive Level (students above Level III math courses). This contest is sanctioned by the NC State Math Contest Committee.

Level III:                    Math III, and Integrated III
Comprehensive Level:  Math IV, Integrated IV, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus

The math contests will take place on the campus of Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) on April 5, 2017.
