Guidelines for New Faculty / Library Partnership Award Sponsored

The WSSU Friends of the Library is committed to assisting the C.G. O'Kelly Library staff with increasing the importance of quality library services and programs within our students learning experiences. A technique to accomplish this mission is to reward and encourage faculty to partner with the library staff to offer quality learning experiences that utilize library services and collections.

Faculty members are the individuals who require students to use library resources and who arrange for their students to have library instruction and to utilize that information in completing assignments. In addition, faculty members are encouraged to select books for the library collection relevant to their areas of research and instruction. Since a strong partnership between the faculty and the library staff is imperative for students to get the best from the library, the WSSU Friends of the Library would like to encourage this partnership by offering a five hundred dollar award each to two faculty members who require their students to make use of library services and who personally also use the collection and services.
