Circulation

Access to the general materials collection is available through Circulation. All materials are checked out, returned, or renewed at the Circulation desk. At the Circulation desk, one can receive assistance on the location of materials, answers to directional questions and some transactional questions, activate your Ram card, pay for charges, pick up and pay for copies, check out a laptop computer to use in the library, and get popular non-circulating periodicals (newspapers and some magazines) to use within the library.

All WSSU faculty, staff, and students must use their Ram Card which should be current and validated each school year to borrow materials. Borrowers are financially responsible for all materials checked out on their Ram Cards.

Overdue Charges

  • Borrowers are not charged overdue fees for items returned prior to 60 days.
  • All borrowers are charged the replacement cost for items damaged, lost or not returned after 61 days plus a processing charge of $25.00.

Renewals

  • Most materials may be renewed three times, once via the telephone or online, and twice in person by bringing the materials to the Circulation desk
  • Items in high demand, may not be renewed

New:

Individuals may renew their material themselves online. Persons should go to the online catalog and go to view my record. Put in the number asked for which is either the barcode on the Ram card, your social security, or your banner ID. Once this is done, then your record should come up and you can review your materials.

This must be done before your items become overdue. Individuals may not renew an item that is already overdue.
