About Winston-Salem State University and the Position of Chancellor
Winston-Salem State University’s Chancellor Search Committee held its initial meeting on April 21 and selected Diversified Search of Atlanta to lead the efforts to recruit candidates. The Committee also hosted forums for faculty/staff, students and alumni/community in April to gain input into what traits should be important in selecting the next chancellor. That input was used in the development of a Leadership Statement which provides potential candidates with a profile of the university and the role of the chancellor.
The Chancellor Search website contains the Leadership Statement, minutes and notices of Chancellor Search Committee meetings, updates from the committee and more.
Euris Belle and Betty Hasler of Diversified Search will lead the efforts to recruit candidates nationwide. To supplement the personal recruiting strategies required in such an important endeavor, the position will be advertised in several publications, including: The Chronicle of Higher Education, Diverse Issues in Higher Education, Inside Higher Ed, HigherEd Jobs, Journal of Blacks in Higher Education, American Conference of Academic Deans, Academic Keys and Women in Higher Education.
