
About Life Sciences and Project Strengthen
The Department of Life Sciences offers Bachelor of Science degrees in biology, biotechnology, and molecular biology. With approximately 230 majors currently matriculating, these academic programs place heavy emphasis on laboratory and research work. Small class sizes in the advanced courses help prepare students for careers in medicine, pharmacy and laboratory sciences.

The Life Sciences Department occupies spacious laboratory and classroom facilities in the WB Atkinson Science Bldg. on the main WSSU campus, as well as in the Piedmont Triad Community Research Center, in the heart of beautiful downtown Winston-Salem.
