Cascade (CMS) Maintenance
The WSSU web site incorporates a robust underlying Content Management System (CMS) that represents a giant step forward in terms of ease of use and shared responsibility. The implementation of our Cascade CMS uses a traditional workflow to maintain the accuracy and integrity of our web content.
The Information Technology Web Support Services (WSS) team and designated content editors and content approvers will work in conjunction and be responsible for creating, editing and maintaining the pages that make up the Winston-Salem State University public facing web site. Content approvers were selected as persons with the knowledge and training necessary to approve the accuracy, relevance, timeliness and overall appropriateness of content created, edited and maintained by the editors in their college, school or departmental unit. As the publishers for content Web Support Services will work closely with the Office of Marketing and Communications (OMC) to ensure that the web follows the guiding principles set forth by OMC to ensure appropriate design, layout and University branding.
WSS will be the single point of contact for issues relating to the web site and will serve as a support unit to all CMS editors, approvers and content owners. However, all content to be created or edited is now to be managed by the contributor/editor for the college, school or departmental unit thus each area will have responsibility for maintaining the content of their respective pages; keeping content relevant and updated.
The WSSU web site averages roughly 9,500 hits per day and is our single most important marketing and communications connection to external visitors. With your help, the on-going content maintenance for the site should provide the most updated information possible and the process should work effectively and efficiently.
Questions, feedback and comments regarding the web site should be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org or a member of the Web Support Services team via RAMTech Support.
