The teacher education programs of Winston-Salem State University are accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and approved by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. The U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation recognize NCATE as an accrediting body for teacher preparation.
The Bachelor of Science program in Rehabilitation Studies and the Master of Science program in Rehabilitation Counseling are both accredited by the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE). CORE is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and accredits graduate and undergraduate programs that provide academic preparation for a variety of positions in the Rehabilitation Counseling field.
