SPRING 2021 RE-ENTRY - RESIDENTIAL STUDENTS

Winston-Salem State University is ready to welcome back our Rams for spring 2021. As we prepare for your return, please know that your health and safety is our top priority. WSSU is implementing mandatory COVID-19 testing protocols for all students that are returning to on-campus living within our residence halls. The procedures detailed below will be expected of each student. Please take the necessary time to read all instructions carefully to ensure a safe return to campus.

SPRING 2021 RE-ENTRY – NON-RESIDENTIAL STUDENTS

Students that do not reside on campus are not required by the University to have a COVID-19 test prior to returning to campus. However, testing is strongly encouraged. Testing will be available to non-residential students prior to the start of classes. Please see testing information below. In addition, testing will be available on campus every Wednesday. Registration will be available on site. Students may also make an appointment for testing at Student Health Services, 336-750-3301.

RE-ENTRY TESTING REQUIREMENT

All returning and first-time residential students will be required to have a COVID-19 test prior to moving into the residence halls for the spring 2021 term. WSSU will be using the BinaxNOW rapid COVID-19 antigen tests to facilitate mass testing of returning students. Students will have 3 options for completing this requirement.

OPTION 1 - Student may participate in on-campus testing during move in. WSSU will have medical staff on campus to provide rapid antigen testing prior to students returning or moving into their residence hall.

OPTION 2 – Student may bring their negative COVID-19 test results with them from another medical provider. The test results must be dated for tests conducted within 72 hours prior to the student’s scheduled move-in date.

OPTION 3 – Students may choose to visit a non-WSSU rapid testing site located in Forsyth County and present negative test results during the move-in process. Pending test results will not be accepted during the move-in process. Same-day rapid testing has limited availability. Please confirm your location of choice will be available on your preferred date BEFORE returning to the area.

WARNING: Students that do not complete the testing requirement will not be permitted to move into their room assignment.
