Winston-Salem State University University Recreation

Students create lifelong habits and explore new activities while they are enrolled in college.  University Recreation (UREC) hosts a variety of activities and services to promote university involvement, health, wellness and community.  Since college life can often be stressful, learning to balance and create healthy habits is essential.

UREC provides a place for students to socialize in a positive environment while maintaining or increasing their fitness level.  We help students create balance through fitness, sport and recreational activities.  UREC offers personal trainers to increase your comfort level or tune up your personal workout routine.  Yoga classes or an active workout can help relieve the stress from college life and allow you to perform better in the classroom.

Students in related majors find University Recreation a great place to work, volunteer and practice their skills. UREC fosters leadership and nurtures future professionals by enhancing the educational experience, helping students reach their potential and provide a learning laboratory on campus.

University Recreation Events

The University Recreation team will be utilizing Zoom, blogging, campus email accounts, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and InstaRam as a means of delivering and communicating the program and service offerings to the WSSU Ram Family. This will be a reoccurring schedule as we meet the challenge to virtually provide programs and services to the WSSU family throughout the Coronavirus Pandemic. GO RAMS!
