WSSU establishes a partnership with Academic Resilience Consortium (ARC)

I am pleased to share that WSSU has established a partnership with Academic Resilience Consortium (ARC). ARC is an association of faculty, staff, and students in higher education who are dedicated to understanding and promoting student resilience. Members represent many functions in higher education such as learning services, counseling services, advising programs, academic departments, and bridge programs. As a member of ARC, we join a consortium that currently comprises more than 600 members from 360 schools across 45 states in the United States and across 17 different countries.

Through our institutional membership with ARC, every member of the university has access to resources such as research, publications, webinars, and interventions on student resilience efforts. Additionally, you may participate in networking professional development opportunities such as conferences, meetings, and webinars with other higher education professionals at reduced rates. Please see instructions below on creating a profile with ARC. Note that WSSU will co-host the Academic Resilience Conference next academic year as part of a grant received from the UNC System by Dr. Georgette Crawford-Crooks and Dr. Jon Kappel that promotes resiliency, mental health, and well-being. We will provide more information on this conference in the months to come.
