A Season of Progress: Celebrating WSSU’s Achievements Together

Dear Ram Community,

As I reflect on my first months as Chancellor of Winston-Salem State University, I am inspired by the incredible accomplishments of our students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Homecoming was a highlight of my time here. It was incredible to watch generations of the Ramily come together to celebrate all that is wonderful about WSSU.

We are grateful to all the classes who made gifts to support your alma mater. Your generosity yielded gifts of nearly $300,000, which will go to support our students.

Here are some additional highlights from the past five months.

Our partnership with Wake Forest School of Law creates a pathway for WSSU students to earn juris doctor degrees with generous scholarships, opening doors to promising legal careers.

A $4M HUD grant enables WSSU to establish a Research Center of Excellence, driving solutions to housing and economic challenges in underserved communities. Acting HUD Secretary Adrianne Todman came to the campus to deliver the check in person.

Our groundbreaking collaboration with Liberia’s Ministry of Education will enhance cultural exchange and international learning opportunities.

Cisco’s $2.7M investment in cybersecurity equips our students with industry-recognized certifications, elevating their career readiness and earning potential.

As we look ahead, I am thrilled about our 2025 Ramily Road Tour, which will connect us with prospective students across the region.

Together, we are building a future of opportunity, innovation, and impact. Your support is vital to continuing this momentum, and I invite you to join us in transforming lives.

A gift from you will empower our students to succeed, strengthen our academic programs, and expand opportunities for the next generation of leaders.

Please consider making your year-end gift today and join us in shaping the future of Winston-Salem State University.

Thank you for being part of the Ramily.

With gratitude,
Bonita J. Brown, J.D.
Chancellor
