Winston-Salem State unveils campus enhancements for fall 2025

It’s a new semester, and Winston-Salem State University is serving up more than just textbooks and class schedules – think Starbucks’ lattes, Chick-fil-A breakfast biscuits and lightning-fast Wi-Fi.

WSSU announced a series of exciting upgrades designed to enhance the student experience this fall in the university video, “WSSU Upgrades Fall 2025.” Students Alaina Moody and Josiah Brown showcase the new additions and improvements for students, faculty and staff.

Highlights include the opening of a brand-new Starbucks location with an outdoor seating area and an upgraded Chick-fil-A that now serves breakfast. Students will also benefit from dramatically faster Wi-Fi access across residence halls, improving both academic and recreational connectivity, and a new shuttle app to track and monitor times.

“You asked and Chancellor Brown’s administration delivered a better WSSU experience,” Moody says in the video.

These upgrades reflect the university’s commitment to investing in the student experience and ensuring that WSSU remains a place of innovation, comfort and community.
