May 27, 2022 | Charlotte Motor Speedway
We need every Ram’s support!
WSSU's Racing Ram, sophomore Rajah Caruth, will be driving in the ARCA Menards Series race of the NASCAR Coca-Cola 600 weekend in Concord, N.C. This is the Friday before Memorial Day. We have a fun-filled evening at the races lined up for you. Plan to join us!
The 150 mile/100 lap race starts at 6pm. Rajah will be driving the WSSU-sponsored number 6 car. The event is open to all WSSU alumni, students, faculty, staff, and supporters. Ram fans will gather in the stands in the WSSU section to cheer on Rajah.
Before the race, plan to join us in the Red Zone (Gate 6) at the Charlotte Motor Speedway for our Alumni Tailgate that alumnus Winston Robinson will host. Enjoy food, music, and festivities as we celebrate this historic moment.

Race Day Info
Ram Fans,
There are several important updates for today’s race. If you are riding a shuttle, please pay close attention to the pick-up location change. Our gate entry location at the speedway has also changed. Please prepare to allot time for traffic and parking. Please share with any others that you know may be attending the race.
We are excited to see all of you at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday! Here are a few quick reminders about our event:
Parking will be free and located across the street from the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Lot D, along Highway 29. We will have signs out designating where Ram Fans can park. There is closer parking that is paid. Prices range from $20 to $30 dollars. It will be a long walk from the parking lots to the speedway. View Parking Map.
We encourage everyone to bring ear protection. Over-ear earmuffs are the most helpful in dampening the noise. We recommend a noise reduction rating of 28-32 decibels. Students participating in the tour will receive ear protection.
Students that purchased tickets and wish to ride the WSSU shuttle should arrive at DJR no later than 11:15 a.m. You may park in Lot U. Students will tour NASCAR facilities from 1 – 3 p.m. Students will then join the alumni tailgate at 3:30 p.m. Students should report back to the parking lot once the race concludes. Shuttles will be back on campus between 9-10 p.m., dependent upon race conclusion time.
If you are driving yourself and want to attend the tour, please meet the group at the first tour stop at NASCAR R&D (7010 W. Winds Blvd. Concord NC 28027). The second stop will be Rev Racing (5254 Pit Road Concord NC 28027). The final stop will be the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Ram fans that would like to ride the shuttle from campus should meet at DJR at 1:15 p.m. for a 1:30 p.m. departure. Parking is in Lot U. The shuttle will return immediately following the race.
Please keep in mind the Charlotte Motor Speedway has a clear bag policy. Please review all entry protocols before arriving at the race. Charlotte Motor Speedway Track Policies.
