Omega Boys Camp Description
Boys Camp is an Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Sixth District program that yearly provides for boys ages 8 – 14 the opportunity to spend one week at summer camp. The camp focus is on enhancing a camper’s self-esteem, confidence, and ability to interact with others by providing its participants with a wide variety of experience through its team-building activities and adventures. Some of the projects/programs at Boys Camp include the following:
- Financial planning for kids
- Conflict resolution
- Reading
- Arts and crafts
- Water safety (swimming)
- Archery
- Team sports
- Golf
- Computer literacy
The goal is for the boys to leave having had fun, but more importantly, to leave feeling good about themselves, their accomplishments, and the friends they made during the week.
This camp does not offer open registration.
ANCA Leadership, Development, Citizenship, Education Institute (Residential)
The Leadership Development and Citizenship Education Institute (LDCEI) for the Association of North Carolina Alphamen is a specialized program designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of participating high school students in the areas of leadership and civic responsibility. The LDCEI is a 2-3 day immersive program that provides an overnight opportunity on a college campus coupled with community tours, educational sessions, and keynote speakers.
1.) Leadership Training: LDCEI provides structured programs aimed at developing effective leadership qualities. This includes workshops, seminars, and practical exercises that help members build skills in management, communication, and strategic thinking.
2.) Citizenship Education: The institute emphasizes the importance of understanding and engaging in civic duties. It offers educational resources and training to increase awareness of political processes, community involvement, and social responsibility.
3.) Personal and Professional Development: LDCEI supports individual growth by offering opportunities for members to advance their personal and professional lives, ensuring they are well-prepared for leadership roles and community service.
4.) Community Impact: By equipping members with these skills and knowledge, LDCEI aims to foster a positive impact on local communities, encouraging active participation and responsible leadership.
