Students & Families

Welcome Back Ramily!

The health and safety of our Ram family are always our top priority. We are also committed to your academic success, so we’re continually monitoring national and local public health guidance to bring you a safe campus experience.

Covid

  • For Spring 2023, WSSU will not require re-entry testing. However, we strongly encourage all students to know their status prior to returning to campus. Do not report to campus if you have any COVID-19 symptoms or have tested positive for COVID-19 within 10 days of your scheduled arrival.
  • Face coverings will be optional. Students are encouraged to continue using a face covering while indoors during high transmission levels of COVID and Influenza. Students may pick up a face covering at the Student Engagement Office (DJR, Suite 204). Masks can be picked up from 9am-5pm Monday through Friday.
  • Rapid COVID test kits are available at the Student Engagement Office in DJR-Suite 204, while supplies last.
  • If you develop symptoms of COVID, dial 336-750-3301 for an appointment at the A.H. Ray Student Health and Wellness Center.
  • Isolation will be required for students that test positive for COVID-19 during the semester. Students are encouraged to return home for isolation.
  • Do not attend in-person course instruction or activities while in isolation due to a positive test result. Students are responsible for informing their course instructors of their absence from in-person instruction. Once you submit the electronic self-report, then Student Health will respond to you with a letter that contains instructions. The letter from Student Health will be sent via the Medicat student portal, and you will receive an email alert.
  • COVID vaccination remains available on campus by appointment; schedule via the Medicat student portal.
  • Students may email questions to: studenthealth@wssu.edu.
