SLEM Academy
The Science, Literacy, Enrichment and Mathematics (SLEM) Program is a Saturday enrichment program designed for scholars in grades 3-5 through the North Carolina Mathematics and Science Education Network (NC-MSEN) Pre-College Program at Winston-Salem State University.
The SLEM Academy actively engages scholars in hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences designed to strengthen their skills in STEM, communication, critical thinking, and writing.
Through interactive lessons, collaborative projects, and problem-solving activities, scholars build a strong academic foundation while developing curiosity and confidence in science and mathematics. In addition, scholars interact with guest speakers, explore real-world STEM applications, and take part in community-related learning experiences.
The SLEM Academy will admit scholars on a first-come first-serve basis. Scholars MUST complete an application.

SLEM Summer Program – A Week of Fun, Learning, and Exploration!
The SLEM Summer Camp offers an exciting, hands-on learning experience for rising 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders! Over the course of one action-packed week, students will enhance their communication, critical thinking, and writing skills while engaging in interactive activities, inspiring guest speaker sessions, and meaningful community experiences.

The program operates one week in the month of June Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Scholars participate in a rotating series of classes covering mathematics, science, the arts, and technology. Guest speakers, including local entrepreneurs and STEM professionals, will engage with scholars throughout the week.
Limited spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis! To be considered, scholars must submit a completed application. Payment details can be found on the front page of the application.
