Business Partner Model

Human Resources service delivery model is designed to enhance the department’s customer service approach as well as our strategic partnerships across each one of our divisions and the university as a whole.

In the HRBP model, the human resource department participates in strategic planning to help the business meet present and future goals. Rather than concentrating solely on HR duties such as benefits, compensation & classification, employment, and employee relations, HR seeks to add value to the organization by working closely with business leaders and/or line managers to achieve shared organizational objectives, in particular designing and implementing HR systems and processes that support strategic business aims.

This model will also provide a “one-stop-shop” environment where the assigned division/group has a specific HR representative to address HR related issues, questions, strategies, and support across all of the HR functions.

These services are very effective for organization and also helpful for business growth, including talent management and development, employee retention and engagement, organizational structure and design, and much more. HRBPs are committed to enhancing the success of your organization. HRBPs become intimately involved in your business and serve as consultants to assist in human capital planning and strategy.

What does it look like?

The WSSU HR team is currently structured as a functionally driven organization where we have subject matter experts (SMEs) in the areas of Compensation & Classification, Benefits, Leave, Workers Compensation, Employment/Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, Learning & Development and Employee Relations.
