Music Student Advisory Board

The Music Student Advisory Board shall serve as the collective voice of music students at Winston-Salem State University. This board will ensure that student views, judgements, and concerns about matters related to the music curriculum and departmental operations are effectively communicated to the music faculty and department chair. The Music Student Advisory Board will consist of five (5) student representatives, nominated and elected by their peers, serving terms of up to two (2) years. To ensure the board is a diverse and inclusive mix of student leaders, the board membership must meet the following criteria:

  • The Music Student Advisory Board must contain both upper- and lower-classmen (music majors and pre-majors)
  • The Music Student Advisory Board must contain both vocal and instrumental students
  • The Music Student Advisory Board must contain at least one student from each degree track (General Music, Music Business, Music Education)
  • Each Music Student Advisory Board representative must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5
