Welcome to Winston-Salem State University (WSSU)! The Office of the Provost and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs is eager to help you launch your teaching, research and service to help you make a smooth and enjoyable transition to the university.

New Faculty Orientation

Winston-Salem State University's New Faculty Orientation, is a one-day orientation for full-time faculty and a two hour virtual orientation for part-time faculty. The orientation is designed to:

  • welcome new faculty members and underscore their importance within the Winston-Salem State University community.
  • establish a network for new faculty and orient them to University's culture.
  • introduce new faculty to resources designed to help them be successful at WSSU and their academic career.
  • provide a clear understanding of the University's expectations on scholarship, teaching and service.

The orientation also includes a topical workshop series.


Adjunct Faculty Orientation

Winston-Salem State University's Adjunct Faculty Orientation is a virtual event that will provide helpful information to any adjunct faculty. Individuals from The Center for Innovative and Transformative Instruction (CITI), Information Technology (IT), University College and Lifelong Learning (UCaLL), and other units from around the university will present information on the onboarding process.
