Winston-Salem State University is the academic home to more than 400 diverse scholars who teach, conduct research, and provide service in the College of Arts & Sciences, School of Health Sciences, School of Business and Economics, and School of Education, Human Performance & Sports Science. Located within the Office of the Provost, the OFA is the central clearinghouse for faculty-related programs, policies, and procedures and exists to support faculty as they move through the university from appointment to retirement. Phased Retirement
Winston-Salem State University provides eligible full-time tenured faculty members the opportunity to participate in the University of North Carolina Phased Retirement Program. Eligible faculty can use this program to make an orderly transition to retirement through half-time (or equivalent) service for a predetermined period in return for half-time compensation.
