The Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) will partner with academic departments and administration to engage in activities to effectively recruit, appoint, and retain exceptional faculty to advance academic distinction across baccalaureate, master’s, and doctorate programs at Winston-Salem State University. The Office will be a resource and maintain an environment that supports the full development of faculty as members of this extraordinary institution.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) is to support the building of distinguished, strong faculties that foster a vibrant academic community here at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU). The OFA collaborates with faculty and administrators to manage matters related to faculty recruitment, appointment, tenure and promotion, and academic leadership development. WSSU faculty is the core of this institution and the OFA is committed to supporting the diverse needs of all academic units and their faculty, in alignment with the university’s dedication to the development of students through excellence in teaching, scholarship and service at this historically Black constituent institution of the University of North Carolina.
