The Media Production Lab serves as a multi-media makerspace, facilitating creativity while fostering digital, informational, and media literacy. The newly renovated facility, powered by Adobe, provides students and the campus community with a variety of tools to create, capture, and edit wide ranging multi-media projects.

The lab features four main areas: Creative Commons, Podcast Studio, Lightboard/Photography/Video Room (LPV Room), and the Vinyl Collection & Listening Lounge

Creative Commons:

Located in the heart of the facility, Creative Commons features 10 Mac Workstations with the entire Adobe Creative Cloud Suite available for all your media needs including: content creation, audio, photo, video and graphic editing, publishing and more. Mac workstations are first come, first served. While walk-ins are welcomed, appointments are encouraged for in-depth one-on-one assistance. The collaborative area is also home to our digital literacy workshops.

Podcast Studio:

Embrace the power of storytelling in our professionally sound treated Podcast Studio. The space includes 4-5 microphones, 4K video recording, customizable branding display, Bluetooth connectivity, and more. Bookings must be made at least 1 business day in advance and can be reserved for 2 hours a day per patron. Patrons will leave with their raw audio and/or video recordings. The space is also available for reservation for music production M-Th, 5 PM – 9:30PM. All bookings begin and end 30 minutes after opening and 30 minutes before closing.

 Lightboard/Photography/Video Room (LPV Room):

Bring your vision to life in our LPV Room! The space is home to video shoots, photoshoots, Lightboard instruction recordings, and more. Patrons can choose between a variety of backdrop colors, lighting, set ups, and micing to help unleash their creative genius. Teleprompters are also available to help streamline your experience. Bookings must be made at least 1 business day in advance and can be reserved for 2 hours a day per patron. Patrons are encouraged to inquire well in advance to determine availability and any specific accommodations for your session. All bookings begin and end 30 minutes after opening and 30 minutes before closing.

Vinyl Collection and Lounge:

Enjoy vintage and modern classics while you study. Our collection features a wide range of genres from Electronic, Funk/Soul, Pop, Hip-Hop, R&B and more. Vinyl are available for in-library use only. Vinyl and the listening lounge can be reserved for up to 4 hours at a time, with 2 stations, having 2 people per station. All bookings begin and end 30 minutes after opening and 30 minutes before closing.


Creative Consultations:

The Media Production Lab also provides faculty and staff with creative consultations on multimedia projects. Providing best practices, planning, strategies, software recommendations, troubleshooting, and more.  To help provide the best support, the lab staff encourages setting up a consultation well in advance of your desired completion date. Instruction Request:

The lab supports academia by providing instruction on Adobe Creative Cloud software. Faculty can utilize the lab for software instruction for class assignments.  To help the lab staff ensure an impactful experience for your students, we encourage submitting your request well in advance of the desired instruction date. You can submit an instruction request.

Guests are encouraged to bring their flash drive, external hard drive, and all necessary cables to save or transfer their work. Cloud storage via OneDrive is also available.

Monday - Thursday:

8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Friday:

8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Monday – Friday: 8:00AM – 6:00PM
